Flapjacks Recipe
Ingredients

75 g/3 oz/1/3 cup butter
or margarine,
plus extra for greasing

25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp light brown sugar

30 ml/2 tbsp golden (light corn) syrup

175 g/6 oz/1
1/2
cups oat crunch cereal

50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup plain
(all-purpose) flou

A pinch of salt

Custard
or ice cream, to serve
Method:
-
Put the butter or margarine, sugar and syrup in a
saucepan and heat until melted. Stir in the cereal,
flour and salt until well blended.

Turn into a
greased 18 cm/7 in square baking tin (pan)
and press out evenly.

Bake in a preheated oven at
190°C/375°F/gas mark 5 for about 12 minutes
until golden brown. Leave to cool slightly, then cut
into nine squares.

Leave to cool completely in the
tin, then serve with custard or ice cream. Store any
remainder in an airtight tin to serve as a snack.
