Dessert Recipes - Popover Morsels Recipe

Ingredients

  • 50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup plain (all-purpose) flour

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1 egg

  • 150 ml/2/3 cup milk and water mixed

  • 50 g/2 oz/1/3 cup dried mixed fruit (fruit cake mix)

  • A little oil Lemon Honey Sauce, to serve


Method:

  1. Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Add the egg and half the milk and water and beat until smooth.

  2. Stir in the remaining liquid and the fruit. Put about 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp oil in the base of nine sections of a tartlet tin (patty pan).

  3. Place in a preheated oven at 220C/425F/gas mark 7 until sizzling. Spoon the batter mixture into the tins.

  4. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until risen, crisp and golden. Serve piping hot with Lemon Honey Sauce.
