Dessert Recipes - Chocolate Custard Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients

40 g/1 1/2
oz/1/3 cup corn flour
(cornstarch)

40 g/1 1/2 oz/3 tbsp
light brown sugar

600 ml/1 pt/2 1/2 cups milk

5
ml/1 tsp vanilla
essence (extract)

100 g/4
oz/1 cup
plain (semi-sweet) chocolate

60 ml/4 tbsp double
(heavy) cream
Method:

Blend the corn flour with the sugar, a little of the
milk and the vanilla essence in a bowl. Put the
remaining milk in a saucepan.

Break up half the
chocolate and add. Heat gently, stirring, until the
chocolate has melted. Pour the flavored milk over
the blended corn flour, stirring.

Return to the pan.
Bring to the boil and cook for 2 minutes. stirring,
until thickened and smooth. Allow to cool slightly,
then beat in the cream.

Turn into four to six
glasses and cover each with a circle of wetted
greaseproof (waxed) paper to prevent a skin forming.
Leave until cold, then chill.

Just before serving.
remove the paper and grate the remaining chocolate
over the surface.
