Dessert Recipes - Creamy Rice with Bay Leaf Recipe
Ingredients

750 ml/3
cups whole milk
-
1 large bay leaf
-
Thinly pared rind of
1/2 orange
-
15 g/1 tbsp
unsalted (sweet) butter
-
50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup short-grain
pudding rice
-
25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp granulated sugar

50 g/2 oz/1/3 cup
sultanas (golden raisins)
Method:

Bring the milk, bay leaf and orange rind to the
boil. Leave until cold. Use half the butter to
grease a 900 ml/3 3/4 cup ovenproof dish.

Put
the rice, sugar and sultanas in the greased dish.
Strain over the milk and dot with the remaining
butter. Stir gently.

Cook in a preheated oven at
150°C/300°F/gas mark 2 for 2 hours or until the
rice is tender and creamy. Serve hot.
