Cream Flan Recipe
Ingredients

50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup
butter or margarine
-
15 ml/1 tbsp golden (light corn)
syrup
-
15 ml/1 tbsp caster (superfine) sugar
-
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp
vanilla essence (extract)
-
200 g/7 oz/1 small packet of
chocolate digestive biscuits
(graham crackers), crushed
-
50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup
raisins
-
Oil, for greasing
-
8 large scoops of Dark
Chocolate Ice Cream
-
150 ml/2/3 cups
double (heavy) cream, whipped
-
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup plain
(semi-sweet) chocolate, melted
Method:
-
Melt the butter
or margarine, syrup, sugar and vanilla in a
saucepan. Stir in the crushed biscuits and raisins.

Press into the base and sides of an oiled 20 cm/8
in flan ring set on a flat serving plate. Chill
until firm.

Remove the flan ring. Pile scoops of ice
cream in the flan case (pie shell).
-
Decorate with
whipped cream and drizzle the melted chocolate over.
Serve straight away.
