Dessert  Recipes - Maraschino Cherry Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

• 450 ml/2 cups single (light) cream

• 2 egg yolks

• 100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup caster (superfine) sugar

• 5 ml/1 tsp vanilla essence (extract)

• 300 ml/1 1/4 cups double (heavy) cream

• 200 g/7 oz/1 small jar maraschino cherries, chopped

• 30 ml/2 tbsp syrup

Method:

1. Prepare as for any of the vanilla ice creams, but add 200 g/7 oz/1 small jar of maraschino cherries, chopped, and 30 ml/2 tbsp of the syrup to the mixture after the final whisking, then freeze until firm.
