Dessert Recipes - Mandarin Custard Crunch Recipe
Ingredients

50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup
butter or margarine
-
175 g/6 oz/3 cups fresh white or whole meal breadcrumbs

25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp light
brown sugar

425 g/15 oz/1 large can of custard
-
170 g/6 oz/1 small can of cream
-
300 g/11 oz/1 medium
can of mandarin oranges, drained

toasted flaked
(slivered) almonds (optional), to
decorate
Method:

Melt the butter or margarine in a large frying pan
(skillet). Stir in the breadcrumbs and sugar and
cook, stirring, until golden.

Turn out on to
a piece of kitchen paper (paper towel). Empty the
custard into a bowl and gently fold in the cream to
give a marbled effect.

Divide a third of the crumbs
between four sundae glasses. Top with half the
custard, then half the mandarins.
-
Repeat the layers
and scatter a few toasted flaked almonds over to
decorate, if liked. Serve straight away.
