Ingredients

100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup granulated sugar

150 ml/2/3
cup water

ml/2 tbsp rum or water with rum
essence (extract) to taste

ring doughnuts

Whipped or aerosol cream, to decorate

Chopped pistachio
nuts
Method:
-
Dissolve the sugar in the water. Boil for 5 minutes
until syrupy. Stir in the rum.

Prick the doughnuts
all over with a skewer and place on a serving plate.
-
Slowly spoon the syrup over the doughnuts and leave
to soak well.
-
Fill the centers with whipped cream
and sprinkle with chopped pistachio nuts before
serving.
