Desserts Recipes - The Canny Custard Tart Recipe
Ingredients
20 cm/8 in ready-made pastry case (pie shell)
2 eggs
150 ml/2/3 cup milk
425 g/15 oz/1 large can of custard
25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp caster (superfine) sugar
Grated nutmeg
Method:
Put the pastry case on an ovenproof plate. Beat together the remaining ingredients except the nutmeg. Pour into the pastry case.
Sprinkle with nutmeg and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5 for about 40 minutes until set. Serve warm or cold.
