Recipes - Caramel Pear Pizza Pie Recipe
Ingredients

225g/8 oz puff pastry, thawed of frozen

15g/1 tbsp butter

200g/scant 1 cup caster sugar

3 ripe pears, peeled, cored and sliced

30ml/2 tbsp cream cheese

vanilla ice cream, to serve
Method:

Roll out the
pastry to a 25 cm/10 in round and place on a
dampened baking sheet.

Bake in a
preheated oven at 190C/375F/gars mark 5 for about 6
minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven
and leave to cool while making the topping.

Melt the butter
in a frying pan and add the sugar. Stir until the
mixture begins to turn golden, then ad the pear
slices and toss until they caramelize.

Add a little
water if they start to stick (be careful as the
mixture will splutter). Arrange the pear slices over
the pastry and dot with the cheese.

Return to the
oven for 15 minutes until the pasty is ell risen and
the pears are a rich golden brown. Serve warm with
vanilla ice cream.
