Ingredients

750 g/1 1/2 lb red or black cherries, stoned
(pitted)

ml/3 tbsp brandy

ml/4fl oz/1/2 cup apple juice

50-75 g/2-3 oz
granulated sugar
Method:

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat gently,
stirring, until the sugar dissolves.

Bring to the
boil, reduce the heat and simmer very gently for
about 5 minutes. Leave to cool, then chill before
serving.
