Dessert Recipes - Spiced Summer Fruit Salad Recipe
Ingredients

150 ml/2/3 cup
water
-
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup
granulated sugar
-
1 piece of stem ginger
in syrup, finely chopped
-
45 ml/3 tbsp stem
ginger syrup
-
12 maraschino cherries
-
30 ml/2 tbsp maraschino
cherry syrup
-
Finely grated rind and juice of 1 lime
-
350 g/12 oz
strawberries, halved
-
1 cantaloupe melon,
balled or cubed
-
225 g/8 oz seedless black grapes, halved if large
Method:

Put the water and sugar in a saucepan and heat
gently, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Boil
for 5 minutes.

Stir in the chopped ginger, ginger
syrup, maraschino cherries, cherry syrup, lime rind
and juice. Leave to cool.

Put all the prepared fruit
in a serving bowl. Add the syrup, stir gently and
chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
