Italian Appetizer (Antipasti) Recipes - Sweet Peppers with Bagna Cauda (Peperoni Dolci con Bagna Cauda) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 red (bell) peppers, cut into strips

  • 2 green (bell) peppers, cut into strips

  • 2 yellow (bell) peppers, cut into strips

Bagna Cauda

  • 50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup unsalted (sweet) butter

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp olive oil

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp walnut oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 50 g/2 oz/1 small can anchovy fillets

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp double (heavy) cream (optional)


Method:

  1. Arrange the peppers on a large serving platter and set aside.

  2. Heat the butter and oil in a pan and cook the garlic and anchovies for 10 minutes, stirring until smooth.

  3. Blend in the cream (if using) and transfer to a warm bowl. Serve immediately with the vegetables.
